Bountiful Volunteering

Wow, volunteering REALLY pays off!

There’s so much that it was hard to get it all in a photograph.

So for fruit we got – 7 apples, 5 peaches,  1 honeydew, 1 container blackberries, 5 bananas, 1 bag grapes.

Veggies – 8 red peppers, 6 ears corn, 11 baby bok choy, 8 russet potatoes, 2 tomatoes, 2 heads lettuce

We also got the 5 bread loaf pack.

All in all it was a good basket.  We’re very pleased!  There were so many extra boxes of bok choy this morning, so every basket got extra, and then the volunteers got the leftovers.  So we have 11!  My friend down in Chandler got squash instead of the bok choy, so we’re going to trade some this week.  We’re going to be able to make some pretty awesome stir fry this week and I’m thinking maybe an asian inspired soup in the crock pot.

I think we’re going to try and volunteer every week if we can.  We were able to get a lot of extra stuff thanks to the leftovers and it felt good to be out helping.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!
